DLEA "VIEJITOS PROGRAM"

One of the most important and wonderful Ministries of DLEA is that of our “Viejitos Program” (Older people; Widows and widowers). God emphatically tells us in His Word how He feels about His children taking care of these people in James 1:27. “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” Since God takes this so seriously, SO DO WE.

These sweet and precious people enjoy nutritious food, Christian fellowship and instruction in the Word of God because of the love and support of God’s dear people through DLEA. I am overwhelmed every time I am in Guatemala by the deep gratitude they have for the love being shown them. Some of them are raising their grandchildren by no choice of their own. Some of them are greatly neglected by their families and left to fend for themselves without government help.
If you remember, almost 2 years ago we took our Widows and Widowers on an outing to Lake Attitlan. It was an adventure all of them truly had only dreamed of through-out their lives. When I am there in May I would like to take them to the National Zoo in Guatemala City as we did our Special Needs people in December. This is another thing that will be a first-time experience for them and will bless them immensely. We need your help above and beyond our monthly budget to help us love them in a very special way. Let’s please step up and show them how Jesus loves them and wants them to have a full, joyful and abundant life. Please pray that God will touch many hearts to help us with this extra expression of love for these sweet people.
